McGreevey's Prisoner Re-Entry Program Expands In Middlesex County

A new program run out of the New Brunswick library will help those who have been in prison obtain entry into the state's building trades.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A new program run out of the New Brunswick public library will help those who have served time in prison obtain entry into the state's building and construction trade unions.

On Thursday, August 30, the New Jersey Reentry Corporation will announce the launch of their Middlesex County pre-apprenticeship training program, which will operate out of the New Brunswick Public Library on Livingston Avenue.

The program, called New Jersey Build, will serve as a portal to help men and women who have served time for crimes be admitted into the state building and construction trades. It will serve the economically disadvantaged, minorities and women, as well as increase opportunities for service persons with a history of addiction and incarceration, said former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey, who has been spearheading New Jersey's prisoner re-entry efforts.
