New Brunswick Police Investigate Carjacking
New Brunswick Police are investigating a carjacking that happened at about 3:00 a.m. Sunday in the area of French and Paterson streets.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — New Brunswick Police are investigating a carjacking/aggravated assault that happened at about 3:00 a.m. Sunday in the area of French and Paterson streets.
In the incident, the victim reported getting into a verbal argument with a group of unidentified men in a different Township. His car was then followed to New Brunswick by a car occupied by the same individuals involved in the previous dispute.
When the victim stopped his vehicle, he was assaulted by the individuals with a sharp object. The suspects then fled the area in the victim's car, which was later recovered unoccupied.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
The description of the suspects is limited at this time, but the original vehicle driven by the suspects was described as a gray SUV, possibly a Honda CRV or Volvo.
