New Brunswick Tree Lighting/Holiday Market Friday, Dec. 7
Held from 4-7 p.m., there will be a holiday craft market, a visit from Santa, live music and for the first year ever, a pet pageant.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Everyone should come to downtown New Brunswick this Friday evening, Dec. 7 for the New Brunswick holiday market and Christmas tree lighting.
Held from 4-7 p.m. in the downtown New Brunswick city center (in the area of 109 Church Street/Monument Square), there will be a holiday craft market, the tree lighting, a visit from Santa, live musical performances and this year — for the first time ever — a pet pageant competition. (The holiday market opens at 4 p.m.; the festivities really get going after 5 p.m.)
There will also be a cook-off competition between Glasswoods Tavern, Harvest Moon Brewery & Cafe, Gloria Jean's Coffees New Brunswick, Fritz's, and Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub. The proceeds of which will benefit Elijah's Promise, New Brunswick's homeless shelter.
