New Brunswick Warehouse Fire Burns Tuesday Night
It took firefighters more than an hour to battle a large fire at an abandoned warehouse Tuesday night in New Brunswick.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — It took firefighters more than an hour to battle a large fire at an abandoned warehouse Tuesday night in New Brunswick, said a city spokesman. The Jersey Avenue fire was first reported at about 9 p.m., and the scene was not cleared until 2 a.m.
New Brunswick firefighters responded to a 911 call at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday, following reports of smoke visible from Joyce Kilmer Avenue.
The fire was at 298 Jersey Avenue, the site of an abandoned warehouse, said the spokesman. New Brunswick firefighters fought the blaze, and mutual aid was provided by the North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Edison, East Franklin and South River fire departments.

One New Brunswick firefighter sustained a minor injury that did not require hospitalization.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
