Due to rain in the weather forecast for Thursday, New Brunswick's Independence Day celebration at Boyd Park has been postponed until Monday.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Due to rain in the weather forecast for Thursday, New Brunswick's Independence Day celebration at Boyd Park has been postponed until Monday, July 5 at 6 p.m.
The city of New Brunswick planned to host fireworks and a 2021 Independence Day celebration Thursday, July 1 in Boyd Park. The rain date is July 5.

6 p.m. Live performance by Tempo Alegre Band
7:30 p.m. Live performance by Wallstreet Band

9:20 p.m. Fireworks display over the Raritan River
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket for seating. Public parking is available in the nearby Rutgers Public Safety building parking deck on Neilson Street. Handicapped parking is available in Boyd Park.

What: Yard @ College Avenue Summer Family Movie Series

When: Sunday, July 4, 4 p.m.
On the 4th, "Frozen II" will be the fifth of 15 movies shown throughout the summer.
What: North Brunswick Youth Sports Festival God Bless America Fireworks
Where: Rt. 1 North, next to DeVry University
When: Sunday, July 4, 10 p.m.
The North Brunswick Youth Sports Festival will be holding a festival from July 1 to 11. This festival includes God Bless America fireworks display on July 4 at 10 p.m. The festival also features carnival rides, food, midway shows and more. Admission is $7 per person.
What: Woodbridge Township Fireworks
Where: Alvin P. Williams Park
When: Friday, July 2, 4 p.m. onwards
Woodbridge Township fireworks are back this year, at Alvin P. Williams Park in Sewaren. Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. Popular band The Nerds will be performing before and after the fireworks show.
What: Edison 4th of July Fireworks Celebrations
Where: Papaianni Park, 100 Municipal Blvd, Edison
When: Sunday, July 4, 7:30 pm to 9 p.m.
Mayor Thomas Lankey, The Edison Municipal Council, and the Edison Recreation Department are bringing back the annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration on Sunday, July 4. The celebration will feature music by Joe Bonanno & the Godsons of Soul. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets to the show. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no food vendors, picnic tables, or kid rides available. Social distancing guidelines must be followed. Masks are recommended.
