New Brunswick schools has a new director of human resources.
Marnie McKoy, a city resident, was recently appointed to the post and will begin her new job on Nov. 2.
She will oversee personnel management and hiring districtwide.

A news release announcing her appointment said she has previously served as “acting chief Human Capital officer in Paterson Public Schools, CEO of the Community Charter School of Paterson, and Head of School for The Link Community School in Newark.”
The district’s new school superintendent, Aubrey Johnson, had been an assistant superintendent in Paterson before moving to New Brunswick to replace Richard Kaplan, who retired earlier this year.

“Our district is extremely fortunate that we’ll have someone of Mrs. McKoy’s abilities and professional experience working in support of our students,” Johnson said in a prepared statement. “In addition to her exceptional qualifications, we have the added benefit that as a New Brunswick resident, she’s already extremely familiar with this community.”
McKoy holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University.
