New Year's in New Brunswick

Catch a show at State Theatre or Stress Factory, dine around town and catch the midnight fireworks over the Heldrich.

New Brunswick is a busy place on New Year's Eve. Here's a list of some events around town that aim to ring in the new year in grand style.

  • St. Alban's Episcopal Church will hold a service at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 for those who wish to ring in the new year with prayer, songs and worship. The church is located at 148 Lee Ave. 
  • Every year, New Brunswick celebrates the stroke of midnight with a fireworks display over the Heldrich Hotel, sponsored by The Restaurant Guys, owners of Catherine Lombardi and Stage Left. Revelers are welcome to begin gathering in Monument Square at 11:30 p.m., where a DJ will provide music. 
  • The Heldrich and the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick are both offering holiday packages and discounts for those who want to stay overnight in New Brunswick. 
  • The Stress Factory will host a party with comedians Chris Porter and Rodney Lane, complete with show, buffet, open bar, music, and a champagne toast at midnight. 
  • State Theatre will host its annual Salute to Vienna concert at 6 p.m. Click here for more information. 
  • According to New Brunswick City Market, the following downtown restaurants will offering specials and parties for New Year's Eve: Catherine Lombardi, Clydz, Delta's, Due Mari, The Frog and the Peach, George Street Ale House, Hotoke, The Old Bay, Perle Night Club, Stage Left, Steakhouse 85, and V Lounge.
