One Killed In New Brunswick Fire Saturday Night

One person was killed in a house fire on the 200 block of Delvan Street in New Brunswick Saturday night.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — One person was killed in a house fire in New Brunswick Saturday night, said a city spokesman.

The city did not have an age or gender of the person killed, but New Brunswick firefighters were called to a fire on the 200 block of Delvan Street shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.

The intense flames from the burning home forced neighboring homes to be evacuated. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from East Brunswick, East Franklin, Edison, Milltown, North Brunswick and Piscataway.

One person died in the fire.

New Brunswick Fire Prevention, the New Brunswick Police Department, The Middlesex County Fire Marshall and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office are jointly investigating the cause of the fire.
