Piscataway American Revolution Reenactments April 6, 7
The British are coming! Check out the 2019 season opening weekend of East Jersey Old Town Village April 6 and 7.

PISCATAWAY, NJ — Are you loyal to the King or do you support the American Revolution? Choose your side during the British occupation of East Jersey Old Town Village on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. As part of the opening weekend of the Village, volunteers from the 22nd Regiment of Foot and the 4th Battalion, New Jersey will patrol the Village against ‘rebels’ and conduct military drills.
Throughout the weekend you can also explore the Village, enjoy home & hearth demonstrations, stone carving, 18th century music, and horse-drawn wagon rides through Johnson Park. If you would like to see the County’s new exhibit, “Mid-Century New Jersey: The Garden State in the 1950s,” there will be a free shuttle service from the Village to the Cornelius Low House Museum.
“Join us as we celebrate opening weekend at the Village!” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “Where else can you experience so many facets of history in one place? Whether you’re visiting the 1800’s, the 1950s or the Revolution, it’s sure to be an enlightening experience.”

“Everything old is new again in these events that retell New Jersey’s past, and put a historic spin on America’s national pastime,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the Business Development and Education Committee. “Bring your family and enjoy the opening weekend together.”
Also, on Saturday, April 6 at 12 p.m., the Elizabeth Resolutes take on the Liberty Base Ball Club in their home opener at Liberty Grounds Base Ball Field. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a historic baseball game using reproduction uniforms, equipment, and rules from the 1800s.

Admission and parking are FREE at all sites. The events will take place rain or shine.
East Jersey Old Town Village and Liberty Grounds Base Ball Field are located inside Johnson Park at 1050 River Road in Piscataway. The Cornelius Low House is Located at 1225 River Road in Piscataway.
