Piscataway Pet Valu Closing, Company Cites COVID Fall-Out

Store-closing sales at all Pet Valu stores will begin Thursday. Anyone with a gift card must use it by Dec. 13.

PISCATAWAY, NJ — Looks like you'll have to go elsewhere for your dog and cat supplies.

Pet Valu, located next to the IHOP on Centennial Ave. in Piscataway, is closing.

The company announced Wednesday it is closing all of its stores in the United States, citing economic damage from COVID-19. Pet Valu, Inc. said it would "commence a wind down of its operations due to severe impact from COVID-19."

The company didn't announce when each store would close. Store-closing sales will begin Thursday. Anyone with a gift card must use it by Dec. 13, and customers can't exchange them for cash.

The PetCo across Centennial Ave. in Piscataway will remain open.
