Police Arrest Five, Seize Cocaine and Cash

The New Brunswick Police Department arrested five people on Friday and seized several ounces of cocaine and over $50,000 in cash.

According to a press release from New Brunswick Police, the Anti-Crime Unit arrested five people on the 200 block of Suydam Street: Manny Matias, 54, Antonio Matias, 48, John Mekhail, 35, Sara Matias, 75 and Gloria Velesquez, 33, all of New Brunswick. 

Each were charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and Possession of CDS in a School Zone.

Manny Matias, Antonio Matias, John Mekhail, and Gloria Velesquez were all imprisoned on $75,000 bail and Sara Matias was released on her own recognizance, according to the release.
