Police Arrest Two for Copper Theft

The Somerset men allegedly stole copper piping from a vacant Suydam Street house.

Two Somerset men were arrested Monday night for allegedly stealing copper pipes from a Suydam Street house.

According to a press release from the New Brunswick Police Department, at 10:45 p.m. Monday, officer Henry Gliottone arrested Juan Carlos, 38 and Jesus Vasquez, 36, both of Somerset, as they fled a vacant house on Somerset Street.

The two men were found to have copper piping that they had cut and taken from the house, and were charged with burglary and theft, according to the release.
