Police Search for Amboy Bank Robbery Suspect

New Brunswick Police and the FBI are jointly investigating.

Police are searching for a suspect wanted for the robbery of the Amboy Bank on George Street Tuesday afternoon.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, a man approached a teller at the bank and showed a note demanding cash, according to a press release from the New Brunswick Police Department.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount and the man fled the bank on foot, heading in the direction of the New Brunswick Train Station on Albany Street. A weapon was not shown, according to the release.

The suspect is described as being a black male, believed to be in his early 30's, standing between 5'8 and 5'10 in height, and having a wide nose, according to witness reports. 

He was wearing a black leather jacket over a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and saggy blue jeans.

The New Brunswick Police Department and the FBI are investigating, according to the release.
