The Popular AARP Driver Safety Classes Throughout New Jersey

If you haven't taken the Driver Safety class this year, check out the December list by AARP Driver Safety program and their Host Partners

The AARP Smart Driver class, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s first and largest refresher course designed specifically for drivers age 50 and older. For more than 35 years, the course has taught over 16 million drivers proven safety strategies so they can continue driving safely for as long as possible. Courses are offered in English, Spanish and Chinese in a traditional classroom setting taught by AARP-trained volunteers in NJ, thanks to all the host partners. Classes are offered in English and Spanish for online course.

The Driver Safety class is recognized as an authorized defensive driving program by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. Upon successful completion of this course, licensed drivers of all ages will receive a certificate of completion and may earn an auto insurance premium reduction and a two-point reduction (if applicable). Check with your insurance company or agent for any additional requirements for eligibility.

AARP membership is not required to take the course. Although the course is geared to drivers age 50 and older, the course is open to people of all ages

The classroom class is 6 hours which is usually completed in one or 2 days, costs only $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. The cost for the online course is $19.95 for AARP members and $24.95 for nonmembers.
