Rutgers Quarantines Football Team As 10 Players Test Positive
Rutgers has quarantined the entire football team, as a total of ten Rutgers football players have now tested positive for the coronavirus.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Rutgers announced over the weekend it has quarantined the entire football team, as a total of ten Rutgers football players have now tested positive for the coronavirus.
Rutgers has quarantined all players and coaching staff, hit "pause" on all team activities and is "working with state and local officials to determine next steps," said the university in a statement.
Rutgers football players returned to campus June 15, and all the players are tested weekly for COVID-19.

Since returning to campus June 15, four players tested positive, and six additional players tested positive over the weekend. In related news, Monmouth University in Long Branch announced Monday they are canceling all fall sports.
The Monmouth field hockey team plays in the America East Conference, while the football team participates in the Big South. Both conferences also decided to forgo the fall season.
