Shooting At Heldrich Hotel In New Brunswick

A 17-year-old young man was shot inside a hotel room Friday night at the Heldrich Hotel, a luxury hotel in the heart of New Brunswick.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 17-year-old young man was shot inside a hotel room Friday night at the Heldrich Hotel, said New Brunswick Police.

The teen survived the shooting, but gave police conflicting stories of what transpired leading up to the incident, said New Brunswick Police. The shooting occurred inside a single hotel room and there were several other people present in the room at the time of the shooting, the teen victim told police.

The Heldrich Hotel is a high-end hotel, spa and conference center in the heart of the city of New Brunswick and is an anchor for New Brunswick's downtown business, fine dining and entertainment scene.

The teen was shot inside the hotel room at 9:00 p.m. Friday. Responding officers located one victim, the 17-year-old young man, alone, inside the room where the reported gunshot came

from. The victim received a non-life threatening wound, consistent with a gunshot, to his groin
and leg area.

The teen was treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for his injury.

Police said the teen was shot inside the hotel room and it did not extend any further into common areas of the Heldrich.
