The woman had been seeking a permanent restraining order, but told Judge John A. Jorgensen Tuesday that she felt that permanent restraining order against Carroo “wasn’t necessary,” the report states.

Carroo was charged with simple assault and the Bergen County woman was issued a temporary restraining order following the incident on Sept. 12.

Last month, Carroo’s attorney said cell phone video of a fight outside the Hale Center on the Piscataway campus, along with testimony from witnesses, would prove his client was not guilty of simple assault.

Carroo was suspended from the team pending the outcome of the case, according to the report.

Carroo’s attorney said he would ask Rutgers to consider reinstating him to the team, the report states.
