Traffic Revisions, Wage Theft Penalties on Wednesday's City Council Agenda
Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight in city hall.

The New Brunswick City Council will vote tonight on changes to the city's business license ordinances that if approved, would penalize city businesses that do not property pay their employees.
Anti-wage theft advocates have been in talks with the council since the summer to see stronger local laws implemented that combat wage theft, a problem that they say is particularly prevalent among the city's immigrant population.
On Nov. 20, the council passed a resolution asking the state to allow municipalities more freedom in creating their own respective measures on how to deal with wage theft.
The council will also vote on an amendment to the city's traffic patterns that would remove two left turn bans at French Street at Jelin Street and Jelin Street at French Street. Left turns would also be prohibited at Paterson Street at Joyce Kilmer Avenue North between the hours of 3-6 p.m., according to the ordinance.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 18 in council chambers at city hall. View the agenda here.Â
