Trekkies, Hobbits and Science Fiction: USS Avenger Announces January Meeting

Discuss science fiction and fantasy with USS Avenger.

Calling all Star Trek fans: an area science fiction fan association will hold its first meeting of 2014 to discuss sci-fi and fantasy. 

USS Avenger, the central Jersey chapter of Starfleet, the International Star Trek Fan Association will hold a meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at the North Brunswick Public Library, 880 Herman Road. 

According to a press release from the organization, the meeting will focus on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of "The Hobbit" and the "Lord of the Rings" books. They will also discuss Star Trek and plans for the club for the coming year.

Meetings are free and open to the public.
