Two Robbed On Rutgers Livingston Campus Thursday

They were robbed at about 2:00 p.m. on Rockafeller Road, in the area of Rutgers business school. They knew the suspect, said police.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Two people who are not affiliated with Rutgers were robbed Thursday afternoon on the Livingston campus, according to Rutgers Police.

They were robbed at about 2:00 p.m. on Rockafeller Road, in the area of Rutgers business school.

They said a man, who they knew, approached them and incited an argument. The man then stole personal property from one victim and proceeded to push and strike both victims with his hands.

He got into a dark-colored Chevy Impala and fled the area in an unknown direction. The victims sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.

The suspect is known to both victims and was described as a 5'10" Black male in his late 30s who was wearing sweatpants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and nondescript hat.

The Rutgers University Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
