What's Open, What's Closed in New Brunswick on Thanksgiving?
Government and municipal offices are closed on Thanksgiving day.
- All municipal and county offices will be closed on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 28.
- The New Brunswick Free Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 and be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28.Â
- New Brunswick Public Schools are closed on Thursday, Nov. 28Â and on Friday, Nov. 29.Â
- All post offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28.Â
- Rutgers University will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28Â and Friday, Nov. 29.Â
- The soup kitchen at Elijah's Promise will be open and serving a meal from noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28.Â
- Garbage will not be picked up on Thursday, Nov. 28, according to the public works department. Zone 1 residents who normally have garbage pickup on Thursdays are asked to put the trash out during the following week's pickup.Â
- If you need to make a last minute shopping trip, The Fresh Grocer will be open on Thursday, Nov. 28.
