2 Found Dead In Cape May County Home: Prosecutor

Two people were found dead in a Villas home on Monday, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.

VILLAS, NJ — Two people were found dead in a Villas home on Monday, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Lower Township Police Department responded to a home on Cardinal Avenue in the morning to check the well-being of the occupants. Upon arrival, police officers found two deceased individuals, prosecutors said.

Law enforcement sources told CBS3 on Tuesday the incident was a case of murder-suicide stemming from an earlier domestic dispute between the couple and a firearm was used.

Detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lower Township Police Department are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

In a statement released Monday, the CMCPO said there was no threat to the public at this time, but Cardinal Avenue may be closed until the investigation is completed.
