Coastal Flood Warning In Effect For Ocean City

Ocean City could endure 'moderate' flooding Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Update: The National Weather Service has upgraded their forecast to a flood warning.


OCEAN CITY, NJ — The National Weather Service placed Ocean City under a coastal flood watch for this weekend. The flood watch runs from 2-10 a.m. Saturday, but tide projections show possible coastal flooding in Ocean City from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.

Ocean City could experience "moderate" flooding Saturday morning, according to forecasters. Here's the forecast from the NWS:

Forecasters predict a chance of showers Friday night in Ocean City, but they don't project rain Saturday or Sunday.

Residents should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from areas that typically experience tidal flooding. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. Never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.
