Ocean City's 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled
Officials didn't think it was responsible to continue both popular events, according to Mayor Jay Gillian.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City has canceled Fourth of July fireworks and Night in Venice, Mayor Jay Gillian announced Monday evening.
Gillian hoped to conduct both events safety amid the coronavirus pandemic, but city officials don't think it will be possible.
"With the enormous influx of people we’ve seen over the past few weeks and with the governor still prohibiting mass gatherings and dense crowds, we do not believe it would be responsible to continue with these popular events," he said. "The health and safety of everybody who loves Ocean City will always be our top priority."
