It's official: Former Ocean City Nor'Easter Emil Cuello signed with an MLS team. Cuello, who played for the Nor'Easters in 2016, signed with the LA Galaxy on Wednesday.

The Galaxy selected Cuello in the first round (19th overall) of January's MLS Superdraft. MLS teams have drafted a former Nor'easter in each draft for the last five years. Cuello becomes the second former Nor'easter selected in the first round, along with Ryan Finley, who went ninth overall to the Columbus Crew in 2013.

Cuello played for an Ocean City FC team that became national semifinalists in USL League Two. He also starred at Southern Methodist, earning AAC Tournament MVP in 2018. He scored five goals and a team-high seven assists as a senior, earning an invite to the MLS Combine.
