Humane Society Of Ocean City To Offer Discounted Microchips
The Humane Society of Ocean City is offering $20 microchips at its shelter on June 30 in recognition of National Microchip Month.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Since June is National Microchip Month, the Humane Society of Ocean City is offering discounted microchips for $20 at its shelter on Wednesday, June 30.
If a lost pet doesn't have a collar with ID tags, the first thing animal control officers, shelters, and vets check for is a microchip.
Microchips contain a small barcode — the size of a grain of rice — that are implanted under a pet’s skin and link to the owner’s information.

The procedure itself takes less time than it does to fill out the registration for the chip, according to Humane Society staff.
Pet owners can call the shelter at 609-398-9500, ext. 1 to make an appointment for June 30.
