Humane Society Of Ocean City Raises $1.5K At Annual Skate Contest
The Humane Society of Ocean City raised over $1,500 at its annual "Skato with Kato" skateboarding contest on Saturday.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Humane Society of Ocean City (HSOC) raised over $1,500 at its annual “Skato with Kato” skateboarding contest on Saturday.
The funds raised will help shelter, nurse and enrich the lives of the cats and dogs living in the shelter until they’re adopted.
Skaters of all ages came out to support the nonprofit. Music was provided by the band LNJ Sessions during the fundraiser.

The HSOC’s white German shepherd, Kato, was also in attendance at the event. The “Skato with Kato'' fundraiser is named in his honor.
The HSOC also thanked these local businesses for making the event possible: Jillys T-Shirt Factory, Lipstick Skateboards, Manco & Manco, 7th Street Surf Shop, Heritage Surf, Surfers Supplies, Red's Jersey Mex, The Captain, Sack O Subs. OC Paddle Company, Little Egg Harbor Soap Co., Santa Paws at Woodland Village, Peace of Wood, Nauti Donuts, Johnson's Popcorn, Ryan Fisher Wood Designs, Downbeach Surf, Ocean City NJ Surf School, OCNJ Daily and Ocean City Magazine.
