Man Brings Pellet Gun, Hatchet To Cape May County Beach: Police

A Pennsylvania man was arrested Saturday after bringing a pellet gun and hatchet to Higbee Beach in Cape May County, police said.

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man was arrested Saturday after bringing a pellet gun and hatchet to Higbee Beach in Cape May County, Lower Township police said.

Lower Township police responded to Higbee Beach around 2:24 p.m. for a report of a man with a handgun and hatchet in his waistband walking around the area.

The 38-year-old Levittown, Pennsylvania man was arrested without incident, police said.

The hatchet and pellet gun were located in the parking lot. He was charged with unlawful possession of weapons and released on summons pending a future court date.

Higbee Beach is located along the Delaware Bay.
