Margate Eatery Named A Top 100 Restaurant In America

MARGATE, NJ — The Jersey Shore has plenty of eateries offering top-notch meals during the holidays. But one local eatery was named one of the best 100 restaurants in the nation.

Steve and Cookie's By the Bay in Margate made OpenTable's list of the Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2019. Two other New Jersey restaurants earned the accolade: Angelica's Restaurant in Sea Bright and Two Fish in Haddonfield.

Users of the restaurant reservation booking website voted for restaurants between Oct. 1, 2018 and Sept. 30.

Similar to last year, American and Italian cuisine dominated the list; however, this year French cuisine proved to be a new favorite, according to OpenTable.

Other global cuisines were represented on the list, such as Japanese, Latin American, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern, showcasing a growing appetite for more diverse and globally-inspired flavors, OpenTable said.

Steve and Cookie's features locally sourced food and an extensive wine list. The multi-room restaurant is often packed, so regulars recommend getting reservations in the summer and on weekends.

The restaurant also made OpenTable's 2017 list. Other accolades include a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and a "Best of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator.
