Man Gets Separate Obituaries From Wife ... And Girlfriend

A N.J. man apparently was so beloved that he got two obituaries - one from his wife, the other from his girlfriend - in the same newspaper.

Leroy Bill Black - which is what his wife called him - was 55 when he died Aug. 2, 2016, at a home "surrounded by his family." That part doesn't appear to be in dispute, according to both obituaries that were printed in The Press of Atlantic City.

In a separate obituary, however, his girlfriend called the Egg Harbor Township man Leroy "Blast" Black, saying he is survived by his son, siblings, a host of other family, friends and neighbors - as well as his long-time girlfriend, Princess Hall.

His wife's obituary says he is survived by his loving wife, Bearetta Harrison Black and his son, Jazz Black, among others.

The obituaries were put in the newspaper separately because "the wife wanted it one way, and the girlfriend wanted it another way," the Greenidge Funeral Home told Philly Voice.

For what it's worth, the Greenidge Funeral Homes published his wife's obituary, saying Black passed away at home, surrounded by his family, from cancer of the lungs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Blvb., Atlantic City, where friends may call from 1 p.m.

A viewing will be 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at the Greenidge Funeral Homes.
