Ocean City Girls Soccer Team Makes First State Final

The Red Raiders will face Ramapo on Saturday for the state championship.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City high school girls soccer team is on its way to its first-ever state final. The Red Raiders defeated Hopewell Valley, 1-0, Wednesday in the state semifinal.

Summer Reimet scored the game's only goal off a pass from Hope Slimmer. Ocean City goalkeeper Abbey Fenton made two pivotal saves in the last 10 minutes, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

The Red Raiders (23-1-1) will face Ramapo (19-1) at 10 a.m. Saturday in the state championship at Kean University in Union Township.

“Our team hasn’t gotten this far,” Reimet told The Press. “It’s record breaking. I’m just so hyped to play the next game on Saturday.”
