Ocean City Goalie Makes U-19 Field Hockey National Team
Maddie Kahn was one of 24 players to make the USA Field Hockey U-19 Women's National Team.
One Ocean City athlete is taking her talents to the national level again. Maddie Kahn was one of 24 athletes selected to the USA Field Hockey U-19 Women's National Team.
The Ocean City resident was on the USA Field Hockey U-17 National Team last year. Kahn, who participated in the Junior Olympics for three years, is set to play for Lehigh this fall.
"This is a huge accomplishment for any athlete to be chosen to represent our country on the national stage," Lehigh head coach Caitlin Dallmeyer said in a statement. "In watching Maddie develop over these last few years, I have seen her determination to be the 'best' and this selection solidifies those efforts. I could not be more excited to have that level of determination join our program."

“Making it is really exciting,” Kahn told the Press of Atlantic City. “I know a lot of people on the team, and it’s good to be back with my friends playing at a high level. A lot are in college already, and about half or less are in high school. It’s nice to see my play improve to make the team. I was one of the older ones on the U-17 team, and now I’m one of the younger ones on the U-19 team.”
