Edward N. Brown, 89, of Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away May 5, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 5, 1932 to parents Lena and Edward Brown in Camden, New Jersey. Ed (“Brownie”) graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1950.

He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves beginning in 1947 and was put on Active Duty during the Korean War. Edward N. Brown, MMLFN, USNR-R was Honorably Discharged from his honest and faithful service in 1955.

From a young age, Eddie was artistically and mechanically inclined, skills he passed down to his children. He could often be found making schematics to build, repair and enhance things in and around his home. Ed liked to pass the time by playing his Gibson guitar by ear.

He was happiest spending time with his family and grand dogs, relaxing in the warmth of the sun and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, especially his beloved Phillies.

A world traveler, Eddie meticulously documented his mementos and photos from his adventures around the globe; the photos often showed him with his trademark “thumbs up” or holding the "Ocean City Gazette."

Ed is remembered with love by son, Michael (Miriam), daughter, Terry (Stephen), daughter, Kristine, Grandchildren, Simone and Gavin, and by the Bermudez, Mercado and Griffith families, his beloved extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Lena Brown, his brother and sister-in-law, George and Mary Brown, his sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Bill Rhile and his nephew, Ronald Brown.
