Ocean City's Richard Grimes Dies at 96

The World War II veteran and former Ocean City Citizen of the Year died on Saturday, according to the Ocean City Gazette.

The namesake of the Richard S. Grimes Field at Sixth Street and Haven Avenue in Ocean City died on Saturday, the Ocean City Gazette reports.

Richard “Dick” Grimes, died on Saturday at the age of 96.

He fought in World War II, founded the Ocean City Youth Athletic Association and was named Ocean City Citizen of the Year, according to the report.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday at the Ocean City Tabernacle.
