OCEAN CITY, NJ — Only two days after Tropical Storm Isaias, Ocean City couldn't catch a break. Parts of Ocean City flooded as rain passed through Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service also placed Ocean City under a flash flood watch until 1 p.m. Friday. Forecasters project multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night through Friday morning.

"Seems like water remediation allows center of intersection to be dry while the water floods lawns and road just before intersection," he said.

Arleen Kupper told Patch that it flooded on 6th Street between Asbury and Wesley Avenues.

"I guess all the work with the tubes for the pump station doesn’t work!" she commented.

West Avenue and 33rd Street flooded during the heavy rain, said Dennis R. But it receded within an hour after the rain stopped.

The ground remains saturated because of Tropical Storm Isaias, which makes the area more susceptible to flooding this weekend, the NWS said. Inundation from heavy rain could affect parts of the island that don't typically experience coastal flooding.

Never attempt to drive through flood waters, and don't drive around barricades.
