After an investigation with federal agencies, officials said many of the rides in the outdoor area of the amusement park were untouched by the flames.

The fire was ruled accidental and authorities said it originated from an electrical source near the front of the building.

Brian Hartley, vice president of Playland's Castaway Cove, told OCNJ Daily that visitors will use an easement at neighboring Jilly's Arcade to enter Castaway Cove for the time being.

Hartley said the amusement park is preparing to have about 18 to 20 rides operating by opening day.
