OCEAN CITY, NJ — A longtime Ocean City coffee shop will temporarily close because of a small fire behind the restaurant. Ready's Coffee Shop & Restaurant made the announcement Thursday.

A structure fire took place at 1:48 a.m. Thursday on 8th Street and Central Avenue, according to the Ocean City Firefighters Association. Patch reached out to the fire department about the incident and is awaiting more information.

Ready's stayed open amid New Jersey's coronavirus restrictions, first serving takeout and then offering outdoor seating. The restaurant was preparing for indoor dining when Governor Phil Murphy lifts the restriction July 2. Restaurants will be able to operate at 25 percent capacity indoors.
