Sea Isle City 5K Walk-Run Supports Special Needs

The Mike's Seafood Polar Bear 5K supports special-needs organizations and Autism Speaks.

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ — The 2020 Mike's Seafood Polar Bear 5K Run-Walk will kick off Feb. 16. The event supports people with autism and special needs.

Participants can either run 5 kilometers ($30) or walk a mile ($25), beginning at John F. Kennedy Boulevard on the Promenade. Both events begin at noon Feb. 16. Click here to sign up.

Event proceeds benefit special school services, autism support groups, families of children with special needs and Autism Speaks.

The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages to participate with their families. Then participants can go to the huge heated tents outside La Costa Motel for live music, an award ceremony, door prizes, magicians and face painting. A buffet will feature bagels, donuts, pastries, soft pretzels, fruit and drinks.

All preregistered participants will receive a custom t-shirt and are entered in the door-prize giveaway. Day-of-race shirts will be available while supplies lasts.

There are no refunds, and there won't be a snow date.
