Sea Isle City Eatery Named One Of NJ's Top New Restaurants

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ — The Ocean City area has become even more of a dining destination, according to an NJ Monthly list. Sea Isle City eatery Beachwood at The Dunes was named among the magazine's "30 Best New Restaurants."

The Beachwood space offers a "modern, shore-chik vibe," according to the restaurant. Diners can enjoy a casual but sophisticated bar area, complete with a glass wall that opens up when weather permits.

Customers can also eat in an a-la-carte dining room or at a counter seat overlooking oyster shucking and the wood-burning grill. There's also a mellow lounge space with cushy sofas where adults can enjoy small bites or a glass of wine while kids — or kids at heart — play games nearby.

NJ Monthly dining editor Eric Levin wrote the following:

"Chef Lucas Manteca and designer Deanna Ebner, the husband-and-wife team behind Quahog’s in Stone Harbor, Red Store in Cape May Point and Taco Shop at Cape May Airport, added this upscale yet affordable spot to their roster. As ever, the food—from tandoori scallops to short rib pappardelle to shrimp taquitos—is instantly relatable, yet more than the sum of its parts."

Beachwood at The Dunes is located at 8609 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City. The restaurant will reopen for weekends beginning April 3. But the restaurant will open during several special events before then.

Viggiano's on Sunset in West Cape May also made NJ Monthly's list. The restaurant specializes in homestyle Italian cooking.
