"I first met Dick in his youth (at age 91) and watched him bring down the house with a drum solo at the end of 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' during the 2015 Mr. Mature America Pageant in Ocean City," said Ocean City Public Information Officer Doug Bergen. "He often visited Mark Soifer, Ocean City’s long-time public relations director, at City Hall, and two of them were always a joy to be around. He’s also the father of the late Betsy Young, a beloved music teacher at Ocean City Intermediate School."
