Somers Point's Bayfest Canceled As Coronavirus Precaution
The annual event features children's activities, food vendors and more than 100 crafters. But it'll have to wait until 2021.

SOMERS POINT, NJ — A major Somers Point celebration was canceled as a precaution for the novel coronavirus. Bayfest was scheduled for April 25.
Bayfest celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The event was created to celebrate Earth Day and the environment. Attractions include children's activities, food vendors and more than 100 crafters.

The event draws large crowds. But the Center for Disease Control recently recommended canceling or postponing gatherings of crowds of 50 people for the next eight weeks.

There are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Cape May County. Atlantic County confirmed its first case Wednesday morning. The next Bayfest is set for April 24, 2021.
