Tornado Winds Near Ocean City Reached 100 MPH During Isaias
It started near Corson's Inlet State Park, flipped a truck trailer onto its side and upended a shed. Here's what we know about the tornado.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Winds peaked at 100 mph during the tornado Tuesday morning that passed by Ocean City, according to the National Weather Service's analysis. The tornado lasted from 9:45-9:50 a.m. and traveled from Strathmere to Marmora, officials said.
The tornado — one of two spotted in New Jersey during Tropical Storm Isaias — didn't hurt or kill anyone, the NWS said. But it caused plenty of damage. Read more: Tornado Passes By Ocean City Amid Tropical Storm Isaias
A waterspout came ashore near the southern end of Corson's Inlet State Park, moving across the marshy areas. Then the tornado crossed the Garden State Parkway and tracked along Route 9 in the south side of Marmora.

The tornado produced especially significant damage on the 500 block of Route 9, beginning around the Coca-Cola facility. Containers were tossed, and a truck trailer flipped on its side, the NWS said. Then the tornado upended a shed near the facility and moved several vehicles from their original locations.
The tornado blew off several homes' roofs and damaged walls. Then the storm crossed Route 9 to the Pine Hill Mobile Court Home, significantly damaging trees and buildings. One home was shifted off its foundation, and downed trees crushed several cars.

Isaias brought down trees and damaged some homes and buildings in Ocean City, breaking the steeple off the Central Ocean City Union Chapel and 32nd Street and Central Avenue.
The storm left about 24,000 Atlantic City Electric customers without power in Cape May County. Ocean City has 143 customers without power as of 3 p.m. Friday, according to ACE.
