Townsend's Inlet Bridge Reopens After Months Of Repairs
The bridge connecting Sea Isle City and Avalon reopened Thursday.

The bridge closed in September, following the summer, so repairs could be made to railings. An underwater inspection of bridge pilings found structural damage. The goal was to complete repairs by May 22 — in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The reopening remedies traffic issues caused by people taking alternate routes to beach cities. It took up to 30 minutes to get around the closure, according to NBC Philadelphia.
Cyclists also use the bridge to ride along the Jersey Shore.
