OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Minnesota Twins selected St. John's junior and Ocean City graduate Sean Mooney in the 12th round of the MLB Draft on Wednesday.

The right-handed pitcher told The Press of Atlantic City he plans to sign with the club. Mooney's junior season was cut short because of Tommy John Surgery. He went 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA in nine starts this year.

As a sophomore in 2018, the starting pitcher went 11-3 with a 2.56 ERA. Mooney made the Collegiate Baseball All-American Second Team.
