OCEAN CITY, NJ — It took Bryce Pettigrew a second to realize what was going on. But once he began crawling, nothing could stop the speedster from becoming Ocean City's 2019 Pamper Scamper champion.

The Lisle, Illinois, native completed the athletic feat Tuesday at Sixth Street Beach. The annual event features infants crawling from the center of a parachute to the perimeter. Some of the athletes need some time to figure out what's going on. So parents and guardians jingle shiny objects, wave their favorite toys or shout to help.

Pettigrew wasn't the first to leave the parachute center. But he proved that the Pamper Scamper is more of a marathon than a sprint.
