8 RBR Students Came Into Contact With COVID Case At Sports Game
In a Tuesday announcement, the district superintendent said contract tracers are working to minimize the spread of the virus.

RED BANK, NJ - Eight students at Red Bank Regional High School recently came in contact with a non-RBR student who has tested positive for COVID-19, according to school officials. The contact came as students participated in a club basketball tournament in Wall Township.
In a Sept. 29 message to district families, superintendent Louis Moore reported that the high school is working with the Monmouth County Health Commission to respond to the incident.
“As a precaution, athletic practices for all teams were canceled today,” Moore said.

The superintendent also noted that the county health commission has initiated contract tracing in relation to a positive case at the regional high school, which prompted the suspension of in-person classes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In a Sept. 28 evening announcement detailing the schoolwide closure, Moore said that officials were only made aware of the positive case on Monday. It was reported that a ninth grader at the high school tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. Read more: Red Bank Regional COVID-19 Case Prompts School Closure

While the building is expected to be cleaned and disinfected on Tuesday and Wednesday, Moore said that the district is awaiting further guidance from the health commission, “but as of now we anticipate opening for in-person instruction on Thursday.”
“Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and support,” Moore concluded. “Special gratitude is due to those families involved who promptly reported the relevant information to us.”
