Area Woman Charged with Heroin Possession

A young area woman faces drug charges after police said she had heroin and an opioid treatment pill in her possession last week.

Police said that Angelica Rosaperez, 22, of Middletown, knowingly possessed two wax paper folds containing heroin on Dec. 19, according to the complaint warrant.

Rosaperez also is charged with having a tablet of Suboxone, according to the complaint signed by Patrolman Thomas Hughes. Suboxone is a drug commonly used to treat opioid dependence.

Both charges are third degree crimes, according to the complaint.

Bail for Rosaperez was set at $20,000 with a 10 percent payment option. She remains lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, according to inmate records.
