It's what's going on in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area on Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday, friends and fans!

Around the towns today …

• The Red Bank Mayor and Council meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. Looks like Red Bank Police Captain Darren McConnell is going to be appointed chief via resolution tonight. McConnell has been acting as the officer in charge in the wake of the September death of beloved Chief Steve McCarthy. And there will be appointments of probationary officers as well.

• The RBR Board of Education meets tonight at 8 p.m. at the high school on Ridge Road in Little Silver.
