Newman Springs Road Traffic Study Begins May 13
This study is a direct result of resident complaints in that area, and will take into account pedestrian traffic. It starts Monday, May 13.

RED BANK, NJ — Starting Monday, May 13, Monmouth County will begin a traffic study on Newman Springs Road (County Road 520) at the intersection of Knight Street and Munson Place in Red Bank.
This study is to address concerns brought to light by local area residents. The traffic study will include automated and manual counts, which will monitor turning movements onto Newman Springs Road, as well as pedestrian activities.
“The goal of this study is to find out if any traffic modifications need to be made in the area,” said Freeholder Director Thomas Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We will begin the study next week to ensure we capture school traffic in the area and we will also obtain summer counts to ensure we have a complete picture of road conditions before concluding the study."

The study is anticipated to be completed by early fall of this year. At that time, the recommendations of Monmouth County's traffic engineers will be brought to the overseeing municipality (Red Bank) to see what changes can be implemented.
“The safety and well-being of our residents is the county’s top priority," said Arnone.
