NYC-Style Artichoke Basille’s Pizza To Open Broad Street Location

The great pizza debate continues: decide which state's slice is supreme when the New York-based pizzeria opens in Red Bank later this year.

RED BANK, NJ - This famed New York-style pizza chain is about to give the New Jersey slice a run for its money (or dough).

New York City-based pizzeria Artichoke Basille’s Pizza will be opening up a 1,800-square-foot Red Bank location on Broad Street, which will be equipped to offer both dine-in and takeout options.

The eatery is slated to open its doors just in time for the holiday season, according to a news release. The outpost will mark the second New Jersey restaurant for Artichoke Basille’s Pizza next to Hoboken and the 16th location for the entire franchise.

Artichoke Basille’s award-winning pizzas have garnered a cult-like following of local New Yorkers, tourists, and celebrities alike, even prompting features on The Rachael Ray Show and Fox & Friends.

The Broad Street storefront’s interior will combine Big Apple-inspired design (such exposed brick and an antique tin ceiling) as well as elements of Red Bank’s rich music and cultural history.

But while the new location in Red Bank will stand out with artistic tributes to New Jersey arts and entertainment, the store will offer the same renowned New York slices and larger-than-life whole pies in eight varieties, including the Artichoke Pie (made with artichoke hearts, spinach, cream sauce, mozzarella and pecorino romano cheese) and the Crab Pie (made with crab sauce and fresh mozzarella with surimi stuffing). Adventurous pizza lovers can even dare to try the Staten Island Pie, which is filled with meatballs, cooked tomato sauce, red onions and ricotta cheese. Classic pies like the Margherita, Pepperoni or Meatball Pie will also be offered.

“We’re excited to finally bring a second New Jersey location, this time company-owned, of Artichoke Basille’s Pizza to Red Bank,” said Francis Garcia, the chain’s co-founder and co-owner, in the news release. “The town of Red Bank has special importance to me because it’s where I met and fell in love with my wife. It’s a town with a lot of heart, great nightlife and, we think, will be the perfect community for our next location.”
